What is Patent Ductus Arteriosus?

However, in cases like Khushi’s, the ductus arteriosus remains open, creating an abnormal connection between the aorta and the pulmonary artery. This condition causes extra blood to flow to the lungs, leading to complications that can affect a child’s breathing and overall health.
