A Story of Hope: Helping Little Deekshita in Her Fight Against Juvenile Diabetes
Early Diagnosis and Struggles
Deekshita was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes at the tender age of seven. Growing up in Mangalore with her parents, who worked as laborers, and her three sisters—one elder and two younger—her life took an unexpected turn with this diagnosis. Unfortunately, due to financial constraints and lack of awareness, Deekshita’s condition was not adequately managed, leading to severe hypoglycemic attacks.
Intervention by PG Care Foundation
Recognizing the urgency of Deekshita’s situation, PG Care Foundation stepped in to provide essential support. She was taken to Dr. Sudeep, an endocrinologist at Father Muller Hospital, where her condition was thoroughly assessed. The medical team guided her and her family on Juvenile Diabetes management, including dietary adjustments, blood glucose monitoring, and insulin administration techniques. PG Care ensured she received the necessary resources and education to handle her condition effectively. Beyond medical assistance, the foundation also provided emotional and psychological support, empowering Deekshita and her family to face challenges with confidence.
A Bright Future Ahead
With proper medical care and consistent support, Deekshita has transformed into a confident and independent young girl. She actively participates in school activities and has big dreams for her future. PG Care is committed to helping her until she is fully settled in her life. The foundation continues to stand by her, ensuring she receives the necessary resources and encouragement to achieve her goals. Expanding Support for Juvenile Diabetes Patients
Inspired by Deekshita’s journey, PG Care has extended its support to other children battling Juvenile Diabetes:
- Prathibha (7 years old) – Receiving treatment at Father Muller Hospital, under the supervision of Dr. Dr Sudeep
- Neeksha (17 years old) – Under medical care at Father Muller Hospital, under the supervision of Dr. Dr Sudeep
- Sagatha Gourav (11 years old) – Being treated at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, under the supervision of Dr. Koushik.
- Milena (10 years old) – Also receiving treatment at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, under the supervision of Dr. Koushik.
